Baked Apple Cider Donuts Recipes

Cupcake-like, flavorful baked apple cider donuts are easy to create.  Autumn mornings are perfect for this breakfast.  These cinnamon spiced sugar donuts go well with hot apple cider or coffee.

– 1 1/2 cups (360 ml) apple cider – 2 cups (240 g) all-purpose flour – 2 teaspoons baking powder – 1/2 teaspoon baking soda – 1/2 teaspoon salt – 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon


– 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg – 1 large egg (50 g) – 3/4 cup (150 g) dark brown sugar – 2 tablespoons (28 g) unsalted butter, melted – 1/2 cup (120 ml) whole milk, at room temperature


I adore autumn for many reasons.  I love organising parties in this warm, cosy season.  This season inspires me to try new autumn recipes.  I associate October with pumpkin pie spice, apple cider and hearty soups and stews.  


Fall inspiration is great for any meal, but I adore adding warm fall flavours to breakfast.  I'm offering homemade apple cider donuts today.


Reduced apple cider adds flavour to these donuts.  They are cakey, easy to make (no frying), and topped with cinnamon flavoured sugar.  They are delicious and entertaining for kids and adults to bake with apple cider.


Ever wondered how apple cider and juice differ?  They differ in appearance and taste.


Cider is produced from ground apples like applesauce.  After wrapping and pressing, the juice is bottled as apple cider.


Apple juice unfiltered).  Cider is oftenunpasteurized and must be refrigerated after opening to avoid fermentation.Filtered apple juice is solid-free.  Pasteurising apple juice extends its shelf life.


The topping on these baked apple cider donuts is easy to make but provides great texture.  You can omit this step or change the spices (e.g., add cinnamon or omit nutmeg).  Whisk sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a small bowl until mixed.
